Hello fellow Jeep nuts
We got our first Jeep back in March. 1990 Cherokee, 4.0, 4sp auto, and the Command Trac 4X4 (not thrilled about that one, but hey...). The guy we bought it from said it had a blown head gasket, so I figured hey, I can fix that. Come to find out, the #2 piston had a hole in it. One trip to the junkyard and a gasket set later, and we now have a new toy. I had to explain to my wife what the "Jeep Thing" was (It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand). I asked her what the first thing she wanted to do to it was, and she said a lift and big tires. I said that's the Jeep thing!
Things I've done so far:
4 Goodyear Wrangler 235/75R15's
Replaced broken fog/driving lights
Retrofit the a/c to 134a (North Carolina gets HOT)
New trans filter
Water Pump
Idler pulley (squeaking b@stards)
Cussed and swore at the surge/pressure bottle cap because they swell and stretch (fixed with a hose clamp. works wonders)
Replaced junk right front wheel bearing (easiest wheel bearing I've EVER replaced!)
Things still needed:
Fix the rear wiper motor
Fix/replace the wobbly steering column
Get the blasted electric door locks to work
Things wanted:
3" lift (next year?)
Side tube steps
Front tube bumper and/or light bar
Roof light bar
Saw a kick @$$ tube bar setup that starts at the front and goes ALL the way around (with the idiot drivers around here, the more "armor" he better).
I told the wife she needs to let me play. I can weld, so I can make her any kind of tube bumper or "armor" she wants LOL!
