Hello from down under
Just saying hello. American living in Perth, Australia. Proud owner of a 1997 XJ 4.0L Automatic for the last 3 years. At the moment pretty much stock but if I get my way not for long.
Looking for some good recommendations for mods to start out with. I'm not a mechanic but I'm happy to learn. Will remain DD-ish (Have a motorcycle for my work commute and the missus has a car) but want to make it a bit more capable off-road (lots of beach and dune driving here plus a bit of crawling)
Thinking (bear with me I'm a Jeep newbie):
3-4" lift
new tires to suit lift (what size can I go without having to fork out money for new rims as well?)
replace front & rear bumper, possible spare tire carrier for rear bumper
electric fan conversion (find it runs pretty hot , especially in the sand)
snorkel kit (not so much for deep water but will help on some of the dustier tracks which can be a problem here)
open to suggestions...
