Default Hello from central wisconsin

My name is Dan, I am a maintenance technician for Land O Lakes. Ive been in maintenance for about 25 years. My first jeep was a 48 *******. I never registered this, kept a tow bar on it and used it for off road. It was stolen right out of my yard. Never saw it again. My second jeep was a 75 J10 mostly used for getting fire wood to heat the house. Could not stop this truck in the woods. My third was a 79 grand wagoner. Traded this one in for a Dodge Van to make room for many kids. I lost that in a divorce. Now I have a 85 Cherokee that I picked up from Arizona. No rust, love this little jeep. Ive done lots of work to it to get it running like a Swiss watch. I use it for going back and fourth from work, Ice fishing and hunting. I would like to put a small lift kit in it to gain clearance.

Welcome to the forum! I'm from Milwaukee!

3" lifts are nice, and easily affordable. However gaining clearance really doesn't come from the lift. Larger tires will help more. The larger tire diameter is what lifts the axle away from the ground. The lift just makes room for larger tires by pushing the axles away from the body!
