Cool Heating problems 1995 Cherokee

Hi, just joined forum after buying my first Jeep yesterday. Unfortunately I bought it with a few problems!!
The engine runs and sounds great but the temp gauge goes to max after the engine is running for about 5 minutes.
The heater blows out cold air.
I am losing coolant although I cannot see any visible leaks.
I installed a new thermostat today (car was running without one) and refilled the coolant system - no joy - problems still there.
Jeep does not seem to smoke from exhaust and runs really well.
Checked the oil - nice and dark and there is no scum around radiator cap.
The two pipes that run from the engine block to the heater seem to heat only half way then lose their heat.
Anybody any suggestions - would be great help.

Dunno hope you can find the problem. I'll ask around and see if somebody may know. BTW welcome to the forum from Ky.
