Greetings from Central Ohio!
Hello all,
My name is Russell and I live in north Central Ohio. I have owned many vehicles, but just picked up my first Jeep, a white, '99 Cherokee SE!
I've had quite a variety of cars in the past such as an '86 IROC, a couple of fox Mustangs, a '91 Civic Si , an '03 WRB WRX, an '05 Subaru Legacy GT wagon, and an '88 Merkur Xr4Ti. I (usually, lol) enjoy repairing and modifying and am my friend's and family's go-to guy for any car questions and repairs.
My Jeep is stock except for a set of 31's on some dated AR alloys, only has 130k on the clock, and is fairly clean for a car who's been through 14 Ohio winters!
I've identified a few issues I will address as time and money allows, and as far as I have read, they all seem pretty common.
Sometimes starts in park, always starts in neutral - NSS (Jeep came with one, but I think I'm going to try the rebuild and maybe sell the one I have)
Driver's and Passenger's doors sag - working on this now, body-side of the Driver's hinge is oblong, we'll see what I come up with.
oil leak - defiantly valve cover, maybe oil filter adapter, hopefully not rear main.
Blower only works on high - blower motor resistor
Air bag light on, horn does not work, cruise control does not work - clockspring
Hood release cable broken - P.O. did me a favor and installed hood pins
Driver removed a/c compressor, but decided to cut the hard lines in doing so, we'll see if I want it bad enough to spend the money.
well, other than the missing radio, i think that's it, lol.
The Jeep will be my daily driver, so none of these will keep that from happening, it had a recent tune-up and runs and drives just great!
Cheers!
