It wasn't a distributor module, it wasn't a coil, it wasn't the crank position sensor. Keep in mind the guy sold this bc he was tired of working on it and couldn't afford more of a fix, as it turns out two wires were in the wrong place. Mixed them up on reconnect. Apparently when he replaced one of the fixes it got wired back wrong. Now I have a perfectly running XJ, and a happy ending to this story, life is good. 👍👌

No worries. To think it was something so small. She purrs wonderfully. And four wheel drive works flawlessly. Now on to the next part. Lift, wheels, and tires. I'm thinking of doing a 3 inch suspension, and 31s to start. Anyone have any suggestions?

Glad to hear it!

Are you planning on running bigger later? If so, either save up and buy the big kit off the bat or buy a cheap one. If not, buy the best one you can afford. Avoid any that have Add-a-leafs, blocks, spacers etc. Old man emu is probably the nicest riding at that height but it is a bit expensive. Check out the modified tech sticky I made "XJ lift companies" for an idea whats out there. Zone seems to make a nice kit for the price. Ive been at 6.5" for about 160,000 miles now haha.

I would recommend a 16" RIM... there are many more tires available to you than with a 15. Also gives you the clearance you'll need if you upgrade to an axle with disk brakes.

Default Good for you!

Man that is awesome , $500 bucks. Your XJ will be so much fun. It is in great shape too! When you get started on your XJ I hope to follow your build. It will be fun to see where you go with it.
