Howdy,

Just bought my first Jeep, a 1999 XJ and found it in what is without question the absolute best, fastest, most reliable and sexiest color: chili pepper red. What luck!

My goal is to build a daily driver that'll get me to hiking/biking trails with a little style. I'm an internet mechanic (i.e. no internet = no wrenching) so looking forward to learning a bunch here; already have been while lurking the last several weeks. Got the OME suspension installed which has made it much easier to stay between the lines at highway speeds. Next step is new tires and original wheels.

I'm located just outside Seattle so the weather is getting better and I'm making plans to get this thing out in the wild!

 

you are correct that is the best color. I love my Chili pepper red XJ It was only available in 98 and 99.

Nice, looks even better with the tinted windows so need to add that to the list. And seriously, 300K miles - I had no idea, mine has 138K so potentially a long life ahead.

 

I had a brand new '99 XJ in that color and loved it. If I remember right, it was an option and cost a few hundred dollars extra.
