Default First time Jeep owner!

1990 Laredo 99k miles. Based on the carfax, the thing was driven under 1k miles/year for the past few years. It was due for an oil change in March 2020 or 101,800 miles. It’s December 2022 and it doesn’t even have 100k yet.

No major issues that I can tell. Drove it from Maryland to NYC with no issues. 19MPG highway. Did my first oil change today. I do NOT recommend using the lasso/loop type oil filter wrenches. It was a nightmare to get that filter out.

Pics here

Astute observers will notice that I opted for the extremely rare “taped on shifter ****.” The shifter **** doesn’t have threads in it so it pops off easily. I’ll probably use Krazy glue to hold it on. Nothing heavy enough that it will screw up the threads on the shifter when I want to change it.

Those tires have PLENTY of tread left. They also have dry rot in between the treads. I would imagine that this is due to the tires being manufactured FOURTEEN YEARS AGO.

Needs a little TLC but I’m happy!

Welcome.

I use the Claw type filter wrench, works much better. Course you don't need to go all crazy tightening on the oil filter either, I just did an oil change the other day and was able to remove the filter barehanded. Just be careful of the sending unit!

The sending unit wasn’t an issue - it was the distributor cap that was in the way. This was the worst wrench ever created.
