Finally joined the club!
Hello Gang!
I've been on here reading posts for a while. I've always loved the jeep Cherokee, anywhere from the 80's up till they quit making them in 2001. I finally had a deal come along and picked up a 2000, 4.0 sport last week. Needs some work, but I'm off to a good start. I'm also more of a weekend oil change kinda guy, so I'm new to a lot of the work that's needed maintaining this guy. So far I've replaced the spark plugs, new coil pack, new thermostat (changed all the coolant while doing that), and oil and basic lubricant change. Pulled up how to do basically everything on here and so far so good. I'm replacing the leaf springs and rear shocks this weekend, as long as the parts come in when they are supposed to. I'm hoping to kind of go "beefstock", I want to keep it close to stock in appearance, maybe a little more aggressive. I don't do any hardcore off-roading, just dirt roads to hunting camps, fishing spots, and backpacking trails. It's great to see all the helpful info and friendly folks on here. Hopefully in a few months I'll be able to help out as well. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and any advice is always greatly appreciated!
