Hi I'm stuck home for awhile (recovering from cancer treatmen) and I want to have a 4 litter delivered from the junkyard so I can build it for more power and mileage (mostly to keep busy). I plan to put in my 99 cherokee sport.
What year engine, cam, head work, headers,, 30 over, balancing, distributor, etc?
Maybe a 318 V8 will slip in. Did some Cherocees come with this engine?

I've build V8's but I like to find out what works best for this engine. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and opinions.

 

Only the Grand Cherokees came with a V8.
I've never owned/rebuilt a 4.0L I-6, so someone else will need to give their advice/opinions on that.

 

Welcome, from Wisconsin. Sorry to hear about treatment, Hope it's going good. Start reading up on how to build the I6, into a stroker. Be your best bet. Lots of threads on here about it.
