Cherokee crew cab, in UK
Hi,
Thought I'd say hi, I've got a 1996 XJ 4.0 Ltd SE that we crew cabbed last winter to make it better in the tighter lanes, stop the recovery gear hitting us on the head and make it easier to climb over the top when we can't get down the side.
Took us a day to complete, lots of strength put back in, works very well as we can get through tighter lanes with less damage and easier, gives a little more flex as well, this Jeep does real well, will use for punch hunts now, got a recent first place, happy days.
Pics in the album section, recent mods include getting rid of the tailgate as snapped in two places, tuck rear light in board as often they get smashed, rear bumper and a step to get over the 'hot tub' and a coat of olive green, with matt black bonnet, paint had gone through to the metal in many places, time for a tidy up... have run out of places for dents so now we put dents on top of dents, easy. Mechanically excellent, drives way better than it looks, gets lots of attention and even buses get out of our way...
Mainly used for tight lanes that we have here (I'm in Plymouth, UK) bought the Cherokee last year, been steadly denting it every since, 4.5" lift, Maxxis mudders for lanes and 34x9.5 Super Swampers for sticky sites and punch hunts. Arches cut back, minor engine mods, maniflod, throttle body, otherwise stock.
Also have Wrangler YJ with front and rear Aussie lockers, 4" lift. Really like Jeeps, had six so far, mostly Cherokee's.
Help run a small club here and we are always on the look out for new places to go... maybe time for a trip to the states.
Cheers Maf
