Beginning of an addiction...
Ever since I turned 16 many years ago, I have always wanted a Jeep. Every time I was due for a new car, either my ex got it or some great deal on something else came my way first. This time, after my buick blew up, I decided that it was time to finally get the Jeep I wanted.
I have lurked this site for quite a while, and I need to say a big THANK YOU to all that contribute. I learned quite a bit and was able to narrow down what I wanted pretty specifically....and about 2 hours ago, I took the plunge.
I just picked up a 1996 4.0L Cherokee Sport with 151k miles on it. The previous owner apparently took pretty good care of it, and I feel I lucked out at the $2900 bargained price. The power in the 4.0 motor amazes me...I can't wait to put it to good use.
I live in the Sacramento, CA area and am looking forward to learning where the BLM trails are to test out the 4x4 capabilites. I will finally be able to get up to some of the smaller sierra lakes that require a Jeep or OHV to access. I don't think I am even thinking Rubicon or anything, just some nice trails that are off the beaten path.
I will have lots of questions, I am sure.... Thanks in advance for your patience, courtesy, and advice. I hope to give back to the group by documenting my repairs, upgrades, etc..., along the way.

Do you hear banjos?
Try to Google it if you havn't. You can come up with a ton of info (sometimes) by simply using Google. I'm not from that area, so I don't know of any trails out there. I bet there is a website that will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck!! Welcome to the site!
