Default Another Canadian!

Hey there,

So my names Matt, been searching this thread forever.

Turned 19 this last June and have owned my share of vehicles already..

Started with an Explorer that I lightly off-roaded. Got some 31's for it and with the stock limited slip it actually did pretty good. Aside from dragging its rear end everywhere... haha

After that I picked up my first jeep! It was a lifted (I'm guessing about 3.5") '94 Cherokee on 32s.

(sorry about the bad picture lol.)

So it was an amazing winter vehicle. But it needed some desperate repairs that I wasn't mechanically ready for. I owned it for about 4 months and then got rid of it.

That's where my store takes a dive away from off-roading and 4x4s .

I needed to fine a reliable vehicle that I wouldn't spend all my money on... As you'll see that didn't work out. I was out of money before I could pull my wallet out lol.

Picked up this little import

Soon after I started spending my money haha. And my new hobby / reason I learned about vehicles began.

I started auto crossing / racing the vehicle on the weekends. However soon I realized I REALLY needed some new suspension

Got it lowered just in time for winter....

But then I got a deal on a motor swap...

Before long I had this!

But then I needed some new tires for summer. So I picked up these as well haha

That lasted for a while... But then I decided I wanted a turbo'd car

Then it was off to Calgary (4 hours away) for some dyno tuning...

Ended up running 230Hp at 9psi. I can bump it up to 11psi and hopefully be around the 250 mark.

Now that I have the car all finished, I was able to get out racing a couple days ago

However. About a month ago I ran into a problem.

I had this pretty cool car. About 2grand left, and a bad need to find a cheap winter vehicle. I only wanted to spend 1500 max so I figured a jeep was out of the question (they go for about 1500 Lowest in my area... For a piece of crap lol).

Well anyways, I ended up finding this for a grand!

Sorry for the bad picture once again... I will try to update when I get my camera and have some time.

Anyways. Its another 1994 Cherokee country edition. Tires are almost brand new AT's. Not very aggressive but will work for the winter. Its got one bad spot of rust (rear bottom quarter panel, will probably cut and fold / fix it soon). Other than that, it has a but above the windshield and some surface rust on the rockers. But the paint in general is better than my car! I love white vehicles apparently

I have some plans to make it a bit more capable... I'm just painting a custom front bumper I made. Its a simple bumper made out of 3/16th plate. Obviously have frame tie-ins that go through the bumper and turn into my d-ring mounts. I'll post picture soon.

I also want to build a rear bumper with a hitch / d-ring mounts, as well as some simple sliders and skid plates. Specifically gas tank (build out from the rear bumper) and a t-case skid.

I also work at Napa and get some awesome deals through outside suppliers. I am ordering a 3.5" RE lift (just coils, track bar, and leafs) for $400 new. I am deciding which shocks to get, and will run YJ brake lines. I'm hoping I can get away without an SYE for a bit...

So yea. Thats me! Finally back in the jeep world AND still have my fun little summer car. Win win!

I will post better pictures, and will probably start a build thread when I get my lift... Who knows when that will be though with my University budget.

Lol yea kinda of a long intro to get to my Jeep. But when I owned that green jeep, I had NO idea about vehicles. Aside from general oil changes and removing / installing simple stuff. Now I can wire a motor top to bottom, pull and install a motor, suspension work, I can weld. I can't wait to use what I know with this jeep. I'm very excited to have a vehicle that I'm more willing to learn on in terms of body work....

After looking today, I'll have to replace the rockers (going straight to some square tubing.. Might as well go big and do it right the first time) as well as replacing part of the floor in the passenger side . Oh well. lol More to have fun with.

Also: More pics! I'm a picture lover, fyi. So I apologize if you hate them...

I got up one day and decided why not build one! First modification to my jeep, why not?

I've never build one before, and have a very limited supply of tools containing a Stick Welder, a 5" grinder, and a jig-saw lol.

I re-made the d-rings because as you can see my originals were pretty small.

Much better...
