Hello from SJ, about an hour I bought a 1996 XJ. Pretty excited about this jeep. I live in Chatsworth so tons of trails out my door step. Here's a pic, I'm not a red guy but the guy did a nice job on the jeep with all the mods and the price was right.

Red isn't my color either but I gotta admit, that's one clean looking XJ. It's certainly different than what we normally see with those big wheels lol.

And just a heads up, it's commonly made fun of to have lightbars on your rig but no lockers or a winch. Be prepared for shots fired.

Me personally, I think that double bar up top looks kind of funny. And really any light bar above the windshield. But the main reason is because they really aren't needed to be that big and they really don't so their job correctly when their above the windshield. They throw the light all over, plus, a 20 inch bar does basically the same thing. The ideal spot for accessory lights is on the bumper.

So in conclusion, we don't like it because they aren't really needed up there, and mall crawlers ruined the look haha.

If you like it cool, no problem. But you don't need 2 haha. I would sell one and use the money for better upgrades.

All good, not offended at all just curious. Thanks guys ,now you got me not liking the dual light bar...I already hate red...hahah. the jeep is in really great condition for being over 20 years old. Rust free and lots of custom work done. My first was a 84' CJ so I'm glad to own a Jeep again.

One yeah ok fine. But 2? That second one just sits wayv up there haha you could get a couple hundred bucks for it for some other mods.

Yeahhh the mall crawlers and brodozers really did what they do with any fad and made it 10 times worse. I've got a 24" bar on my bumper and it is MORE than enough to light up a backroad. More importantly, it puts the light where it is most effective versus just throwing it wherever. I run flood cubes angled towards the passenger and driver sides in conjunction with the bar so I can increase the width of my field of view. I've never needed more light than that.

Here's a shot of being on a mountain and overlooking across the pit we were in with just the 24" light bar on combined with my LED headlights. The bar has a spotlight in the middle and floods on each end so its a hybrid combo bar. As you can see, it throws light really far. The pic honestly doesn't even do it justice.

And yes, I think your XJ is very clean for its age. It's time to start making it yours though. Change some things around. Great thing about a jeep is that it can be customized almost anyway you want. So get to it!

Thanks guys. Def looking forward to making it mine! Looking at changing out the headlights and getting rid of the top led bar for starters ha. Def looks like a little gaudy/tacky and I'm more of a clean look guy. Thinking about going flat black up to the door crease to help get rid of this red...will take the branch scratches well I'm about to encounter!

Much better haha. I have 2 6 inch bars on the rear of my roof rack for reversing in the dark. If you don't want to get rid of it, possibly put it there. But that may be overkill hahah
