95 XJ 6cyl 242 4.0L High Output.
hello.
thanks for this forum.
selling the volvo and going to make this 95 XJ my daily driver. i have a 40km/30mi drive (total) to work. all highway. i'm a canuck. i deal with snowy/icy roads so a 6" lift with 38" baja claws isn't in the near future but not out of the question lol.
6 cylinder inline.
AMC 242.
4.0L high output.
230000km/143000mi original.
right now it doesn't have a battery. but i used the battery from my other jeep commander to get it home into the garage. starts up fine. i was going to pick up a yellow top battery with a good 750 cold cranks since we've been dealing with -40C/F for the past few weeks.
going to do the usual stuff like change the engine oil, gear oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, etc etc.
i hear these jeeps had problems with heat so i'll look at replacing the cooling system and the brake drums down the road.
anyways thanks for the forum. looking for good info on what I need to look out for to take care of this Jeep. i want 400kms on this engine lol.
