So my xj does not swim. It sat here for about an hour before I could use the come along and get it completely out. After cleaning out most of the water, I removed the plugs and I want to crank out any water in the cylinders but I have a problem.

I hooked up the jumper pack and all the power came on as it should. I went to put the windows up before cranking it over and about 10 seconds later everything shut off and won't come back on. I've got it to do this three times but anytime I turn the key, it shuts off within 30 seconds. I'm sure the water is affecting it somewhere but I'm not sure where else to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

A loose connection at the battery will do this.
