I worked on getting pre 97 bulbs figured out this weekend. This is what I've gathered: (looked at 86, 89, 91, 94, 96)

gauge clusters = same 84-96, quantity varies, up to 13
warning/idiot lamps = same 84-96, quantity varies, up to 8(?)
t-case = same 84-01 (fittings same, ideally different bulbs)
transmission = same 84-01
glove box = 96 verified (not sure pre 96)
floor lamps = same 84-96
dome lamps = same 84-01 (fittings are different, but same bulbs)
map/reading lamps = same 84-01 (fittings same, ideally use different bulbs)
vanity mirrior lamps = ? didn't see any / didn't look well
overhead console = ? pulled lamp section from a 91(?)

Correct me if there is anything I'm missing.

I don't like how the bulbs I have on hand work as map/reading lamps for 84-96, so I've ordered samples of four different types to try out.

Can anyone verify whether pre-97 had vanity mirror lamps? I'd like to see one if so... maybe against a ruler to get the length and a photo of the fitting/socket.

Also, anyone familiar with what years the OHC console was available pre 97?
