If you have a 8.25 you want the Liberty kit, it's a direct bolt on. If you have a Dana 35 you want a ZJ kit, it's a direct bolt on.

I was always told that the D35 was a crap axle, an the only money that should be spent on it is for an upgrade to the 8.25 or D44.
Is that not true?

I agree with that .... but.... there's always a but. ...
Some folks have good success with a Dana 35, myself included. My old TJ had one. I "wheeled" it on 35s. If I had the same driving back then like I do now it would be broken. Everyone is at different level.
Plus, you can also swap over the discs to a 8.25 with a small amount of work.

I just wanted to update that I installed my liberty kit. It was not that bad to install. I bought new brake lines and then it was just a matter of taking everything apart and putting everything back together.

Big David was helpful and responded quickly to a couple of questions I had about the kit. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone in the market for a disc upgrade.

I installed the kit and holy crap if my Jeep didn't go from this,

to this in an instant,

Haha, in all seriousness, Big David seems to be a real stand up guy and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Thanks again for the parts. They have worked out great.

You are most welcome, glad I could help "convert" another member on here.
BTW, your Jeep looks great.

Hey Big D, I've got a KJ setup on the 8.25 axle I just scored. I'm also going to be converting my center console and ebrake to the 97+ style from the '92 setup. Would these be the correct cables?

As long as everything under the Jeep stays the same, you are good.

See that's kinda the thing though. I'm changing over from the '92 brake lever mounted in the center to the 97+ handle mounted off to the side... doesn't the offset wind up changing things?

It's only getting moved a few inches. It shouldn't matter.
