Got my kit installed yesterday. For the most part a very straight-forward install. Had a couple hick ups, but got it all together for now with no leaks and MUCH better braking.
I had overhauled the drums on my '01 last year and while tearing them down had several broke springs and parts that had come apart. Suprised they were working at all!!
SO glad to finally have 4-wheel discs on my XJ finally!
Only thing I'm missing is parking brakes. The cables sent w the kit (1 fit, drivers side) but the pass side cable was about 2' too short. Anyone have a link to someone who sales the parking brake cables... would be much appreciated.

The kit came with longer studs, (which I installed, but probably could have gotten away with not using them) I'm guessing to allow for either alluminum rims or more likely the rotor depth not accounted for with stock drum brakes... On a second note, I did not install the longer studs that also came to hold the backing plate to the axle... I kinda forgot until it was assembled again, & didn't want to go backwards again... Stock studs ended up being barely long enough, so I elected some red locktite too..

Thanks for the good info, guys. Really helps us who are pending this project. So, I'll need to be wary about the longer studs and backing plate bolts, and the E-brake cable (which I already suspected anyhow)
To be honest, I haven't really opened the box much yet. Waiting until I get moved this weekend into my new garage, then some serious work will be starting on my XJ! Got a bit of supplies to gather for this project. List as follows:
-Brake fluid
-Bleeder kit
-C8.25 gasket
-75w90 gear oil
-Dremel stones for widening backing plate
-ZJ wheel studs (are they included with the kit?)
-ZJ new rear rotors and pads
-New inner and outer axle seals (why not while I'm in there?)
For those of you who have done this already, is there anything I should add to this list?

Only thing I'd add is a set of parking brake shoes to your list.

I did install the longer wheel lug bolts that came w/my kit as I have aluminum wheels on my '01 and like the idea of the longer stud. I also installed the included hub to backing plate longer studs that were included in the kit. I didn't buy new as the parts included in my kit were in good shape, no damaged threads or busted bolts. Might as well make life easier and do it the way it should be done while it's all apart.
I will check into that longer parking brake cable and likely order just so everything in my XJ is in working order. I think I've used my parking brake a handful of times (if that) in the 4 years I've been driving it and same for my previous XJ in the 7 years of ownership. Since my rigs are Auto's it's not something I use regularly. If my rig was Standard then I'd be SURE to have a properly functioning Parking Brake.
