This Jeep Cherokee has been my project for about the past year. I bought it in pretty poor condition, and it has evolved into this beautiful XJ you now see. I've taken it as far as I can so it's time to find a new home and for me to move on to the next project. I'm currently not open to trades.
It is an all original 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4WD, 4.0L with 130,xxx miles. It runs amazingly and is truly a head turner. Every drop of fluid has been flushed, and oil changes have happened every 3K miles with Royal Purple synthetic oil. I get about 14.5mpg city driving and 23mpg on freeway and longer drives.
Recent projects include:
Rebuild both both front and rear drive shafts
New timing chain cover
Rebuilt transfer case (NP-242J) with G2 rebuild kit
Transmission flush
Cooling system flush
New 62mm bored throttle body (I have the original throttle body)
A more complete list of projects from the past year:
Rebuilt Dana 30 High Pinion. Fully stripped and serviced (bearings, seals, ball joints, paint, etc.)
Front poly bushing kit (upper & lower control arms, front sway bar, sway bar end links
New front brake calipers and brakes
Timken hubs
Front and rear brake lines
All new front U-Joints
Fully stripped and rebuilt Chrysler 8.25 (bearings, seals, wheel cylinders, etc.)
Rebuilt rear brakes and shoes
Rear main seal
New oil pan and gasket
Oil pressure sensor
Rod bearings
Timing chain and gears
All coolant hosing and sensors
Thermostat
Water pump
Idler pulleys
Bosch 4-hole fuel injectors
Coil rail and plugs
Factory rear sway bar and end links
4 new tires and used full size spare
I have kept the Jeep original. I have the factory intake box and filter, along with some of the miscellaneous parts from other various projects, not necessarily listed here.
What it needs:
The drivers seat electronic controls were removed by the previous owner, which means the drivers seat heater will not work unless the mechanism is replaced. The passenger side seat warmer is fine.
The body is not perfect, but for being 14 years old it's pretty spotless.
Front driver seat has some wear - all seats are original so it's normal usage.
The headliner need adhesive in parts but I'm told it's an easy fix.
$8,500
The price is firm, I am a patient seller.
This Jeep is not for everyone - whomever ends up with this XJ will truly appreciate the labor of love that has gone in to it. There are some nice Cherokees out there but none like this.
Clean title, no accidents, and I have a CarFax PDF I can send if you'd like to see it. Please message with questions or if you're local to schedule a time to see it for a test drive.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm open to shipping the Jeep but payment must be upfront and buyer arranges and pays for shipping.
Thanks all.
