1995 Jeep Cherokee 4.0, Green exterior, Gray interior, 4WD, 2 door, manual transmission, manual everything, green. My unicorn.
Located in Southwest Connecticut. Please message me or reply here w/ questions.
- Odometer says 137k, but it's actually closer to 250k. A previous owner swapped it, you can see this in the Car Fax
- No mechanical issues that I'm aware of. I was getting this in shape to be my daily driver.
- No accidents that I'm aware of.
- No rust that I'm aware of, except a little by the snorkel cut out on the fender.
- This is a southwest & west coast Jeep that I shipped over 18 months ago.
- Garage kept by both me and the previous owner.
- Interior needs a new headliner and a new carpet. Panels need to be clipped in. Right now the rear ones are loose and they rattle around.
- A paint job from the previous owner is showing a little wear in spots.
- 3.5" lift from previous owners, I'm not sure what brand/kit.
- Brush guard
- Secondary radiator (never had to use it, but it works great)
- Fog lights
- Snorkel from previous owners
- Great new sound system. Double din Sony w/ Carplay, Amp w/ DSP, Subwoofer, Component speakers up front.
- Wheels are 17" from a Jeep Gladiator, with a full size spare
- Tires have a ton of life left, just a few thousand miles on them. Firestone Destination LT255/75R17
Here's the story:
I had a 4 door automatic XJ in high school. I was on the hunt to buy a 2 door manual for over a year. I found one in California. I'm on the east coast, so I had a mechanic check it out, a friend gave it a look, and I shipped it home. The Jeep mechanicals were in pretty good shape. The interior needed love, but I didn't care. I've put in a bunch of work to make this my daily driver (new clutch, repaired transmission, new battery, new alternator, upgraded wiring, fixed all leaks, awesome sound system with Carplay, etc). I'm out of energy and short on time for the next phase (the interior needs a headliner and a carpet). I want to swap this for a newer Wrangler that the wife can drive occasionally.
I paid $9k, shipped it out east, put $6-7k into it, and asking $12k to only lose half.
Hey I'm pretty interested in this, I'm currently overseas for a TDY for the Army and plan to be back around end of March/Early April, are you willing to possibly sell it then if there's no buyers? Thanks! (I am currently live in NC)

Hey Daniel, yes of course. Ideally I will find a buyer between now and then, but if not we should chat when you return.
My initial asking price was off the mark. Price is now $9k. Motivated to make a deal, please reach out if you’re interested.
Hi thomer, looks like a nice old truck, just what I’ve been looking for. You mention a bit of rust by the snorkel, that’s not really a concern, but I would like to know if there is any evidence of significant rust in the structure under the floorpan?

The snorkel cutout has a touch of rust on the edge of the cutout because of the bare metal, but it’s not very noticeable. Otherwise there is no rust AFAIK. This Jeep lived on the West Coast until I got it.
Well in that case I’m extremely interested. Am a bit ignorant on the whole purchase process but just got a quote for shipping down to Miami. Annoying that newbies cannot use the messaging system, am I allowed to give post up an email address for further discussions?
Yeah, shoot me an email address or phone number and I will reach out. For me, shipping from California was $1700 or so. IIRC gas prices were higher at the time.
