I'm looking to bump up my tire size from 31 x 10.5 x 15 to 33 x 12.5 x 15. I have 4" of lift currently with a rough country short arm kit so any more I'm gonna need long arms so higher right now is a no go. I am willing to cut my fenders however. I have seen a few people say you need like 6" of lift for 33" but it makes no sense to me. I have flexed mine out and checked the space and I have lots more space. I will be buying rims at the time I buy tires so would 3.5" backspace do the trick with some custom flares (I work at a steel/aluminum Fab shop so I can make em sweet) or are there some issues I'm not foreseeing?

seems like most people are reporting that a 4.5" lift will fit 33s with minimal cutting

 

With that said. Some aggressive flares with moderate cutting will do the trick?
