Xj wheel Offset/backspacing
I've heard that 4 inches of backspacing is supposed to be ideal for xjs Right now I have stock rims with 31"x11.50" tires. they only rub when I turn all the way to the right, on my upper control arm, it chews up the tires pretty good. now my tires have been on for about 3 years, and its time to replace them. I want to go with a 32"x11.50" this time, so I need to do something about that. I want a cheep rim, that will still look pretty good, and preferably black. 15" works for me, what do y'all recommend and what would fit my needs? thanks for the input.

Im running 32x11.5's and i have 15x12 wheels with 3.5" backspacing and no rubbing(besides on fender when i hit a bump, need to trim)...but i would recommend a 15x8 with no less than 4.5" backspacing...depending on how wide you want to sit...my 3.5" backspacing makes my tires stick out wide(which i love).

stock backspacing is 5.25" so anything less than that will be beneficial.
Crager Soft 8s are the cheap standard as far as off-road wheels goes. Check them out:

You need a 5x4.5" bolt pattern remember

No, the only thing that really affects the stance is the backspacing...the width of the wheel just allows for wider tires....my wheels are way to wide for my tires...but they came with the jeep and i like the way they look, so didn't see the need in wasting money on new ones.lol

backspacing only located the back side of the wheel. from there, the wider the wheel the further out it will become. If you have a 15x10 as compared to a 15x8 with same backspacing the 15x10 will stick out 2" further. Since the tire is centered on the wheel, something like say a 33x12.50 will stick out further on a 15x10 than a 15x8 with the same backspacing. It will be less than the 2" of wheel difference but it will be noticeable
