Default XJ lifts

I am looking to get a 8" lift for my XJ. A couple of companies I have in mind is Clayton, Rusty's, and Iron Rock. Another question I have is, if I decide to go with Clayton what is the pros and cons for 3-link compared to the long arm.

clayton is a far superior company than the others you listed. ill let the others tell you about the 3 link vs standard long arms but i know the 3 link is better. what size tires do you want to run?

Yeah, that what I was feeling from all the other threads about the companies but I plan on running 35's maybe 37's later on.

3 link wont bind period. A typical 4 link la or sa lift will eventually bind. 8 inches of lift is almost ridiculous on an xj. Get a 6 inch lift and never look back..8 inches is gonna put your cog out the roof and make it crazy top heavy. 6 inches and 35s look sweet and will perform better. Search for long arm vs 3 link and you'll be reading for hours. If your dead set on 8 inches and those brands go claytons.

I wish I had the 3 piece cross member that clayton uses with their long arm lifts. Much better for getting to the trans and t-case. I have about 8" of lift and 35's and I like the setup quite a bit.

So my next question is 6.5" or 8" 3-link lift from clayton. I would want to run 35's and maybe 37's later on.

I love my iron rock long arms I've had them flexed out way far with no bind not saying they won't but I haven't bind them yet

I still had three inches of shock left

Depends on what kind of wheeling you're gonna be doing and how you feel about fender trimming.

Seems like your rear is pretty stiff?

X2. Front flex is sweet but rear isn't stuffing. Id be willing to bet your shackle.angle is off...or you have stiff *** leafs.
