Im looking for recommendations... im looking tio tow a small travel trailer. It will be under 4k lbs.
i currently have a 98 XJ with 180k miles on motor which runs great. 3.5 inch lift 4.10 rear end. 31 inch tires. I want to upgrade the brakes to help with the towing and most of all want to put some horsepower under the hood. Should i go stroker or supercharge it?? How much power would i really need to tow a small light trailer. Thanks guys

WE assume that the trailer has electric brakes that are in good shape. The xj is not a over powered unit and you want to tow a weight that is about the same weight behind it. It is not going to fuel efficient or speedy, the transmission is going to hunt for gears. Have you thought of gearing?
