Actually, steering stabilizers are precisely the cure for death wobble (harmonic resonance).

That said, agree that the entire setup needs to be reassessed. Like to know where those parts came from. And see what the alignment looks like. As well as the other recommendations.

One thing is for sure. Only you will see benefits from a stabalizer cure. Me im going to have a correctly set up jeep where track bar and drag link play well together.

Yes a stabalizer could be used after the fact to lesson steering imput from big tires or for go fast stuff, but cure for death wobble, definitely no.

Y'know, nother thought is you might want to just walk away. You could end up with some major coinage here.

Second, and the main cause of your death wobble is the drag link is too high on the tie rod. So when you hit a bump of any type, the tires will be instantaneously forced to the passenger side. Then on rebound, instantaneously forced back toward the driver side. This is the start of your wobble, then it keeps happening because something is loose. In this case, I am not a fan of the heim type set up where the drag link does not to all the way to the steering knuckle. This tie rod can roll, changing the direction of the wheels when it does. In my opinion, this is where your harmonic back and forth steering wobble is maintained and gets violent. So to fix it, you would need to go back to the original type of design. Here is one example.

I have no experience with this brand, but it is an example of getting back to the original design and upgrading strength also

thanks for the feedback. I took a closer look at the frame and up top the crack is a lot bigger than expected. So first I’m going to plate that all up both sides, top, and bottom. Cause that’s definitely is what’s loose, the whole steering box moves when I turn the wheel. Then I’m just gonna work from there. I’m low on funds right now so hopefully this plate would just make it drivable enough to get where I need(no crawling or anything yet). But I’ll be looking into some different steering kits. Thanks again

so I definitely found the problem... whole things moves when I turn. Looks like I’m gonna spend my weekend grinding the booger welds the last people did and plating this thing right

Reminds me of Yossarian on the plane in Catch-22.

That looks bad.

Did you buy or fabbing your own inner frame plate.

You might also put sleeves in the steering box holes while your at it.

Fixing this will definitely make things drastically better

I fabbed up all my own with 1/4in on both sides top and bottom and they all tie into each other as best as they can. Then I cut out two washers out of 1/2in thick steel to replace the aluminum spacer that was there before. I need to grind down the spot weld holes and reweld in there but other than that it’s all done. Still gonna get the steering box brace/crossmember in the future. Let me know what y’all think

Looking good. I like it specifically that your fabbing is yourself.
