XJ 2.5l TD EGR valve problem

XJ 2.5l TD EGR valve problem
Please help me figure out what is wrong with my engine.I cleared the EGR soot and now i notice i have lost power and acceleration of the vehicle bucks and the car smokes now.I thought cleaning the EGR will instead reduce emittions.
