So..this new jeep has DW pretty extreme. To the point of me having to almost come to a stop before I can continue driving. It will happen at any speed over around 30mph. I can almost predict when its going to start..If I hit any hole or bump of much size it starts...it takes around 5 seconds to progress into the wobble.. starts as bump steer then goes into wobble. A little about my setup (this is the previous owners duty..im not responsible for this half *** lift):
3" coil spacers (stock coils)
STOCK shocks (suspect)
2.5" rear blocks (awful, i know)
IRO Double Sheer trac bar with bracket
Tc Drop
Stock Control Arms
Pretty worn 32s
I JUST replaced the tie rod with a zj tie rod..helped none
Inspected all TRE's they are all in good shape..no slop
Trac bar bushings are mint
Havent pulled the Control arms yet..but the jeep only has 90k on it..dont see em being in horrible shape.
Havent had the tires balanced yet..but I may result to that.
Jacked tires off the ground and checked for play at 12 & 6 and 3 & 9.. no play.
Allignment is as close as I can get it with a driveway allignment
Im to the point of thinking its because of the big *** spacers causing it to be so unstable from the stock coils with large spacers.
Im about to just start ordering some pieces for my new lift. Any input on this is greatly appreciated.. Ive read about every thread out there..they all point to the things ive inspected.

Before mine was lifted etc, I had the same thing it turned out one front wheel was out 160 grammes, balanced and was fine after.
Certainly cheapest option worth trying first.

I used to try and drive through it roads permitting to about 80 scarey stuff.
However all good now, since then have different wheels, tyres and lift and actually drives even better than before.
Had my tires balanced. The guy said they weren't off much. Doubt that was the issue but we will see. In the mean time while my tires are off what should I check (if anything)?

thats the same issue i had with dw! mine was due to wrong toe in and unbalanced and badly worn 32'S. I put the best tires on the front and did my own toe-in alignment. I also had them balanced with beads at first, but that wouldn't work. Had to get the sticky weights on the inside of the rim for it to balance properly.

Don't think tire balancing had an affect. I just took it around my neighbor hood and it seemed like I could still feel the little bumps in the steering wheel. I can't really go fast enough in my neighborhood to really induce it and the weather is pretty bad today so I don't wanna test it on a main road.

how are your sway bar bushings? i put new endlinks with new bushings and new bushing on the frame side because mine were all wallowed out and i could feel that the front end felt alot tighter. have you checked the ball joints?
Ball joints dont have play...tried to find slop by grabbing the tire at 12-6 as well as 9-3 ..found nothing.

I had my 98 XJ up to 90 on the interstate (no sway bar) hitting bumps and holes in the pavement with no issue.
