WJ SWAP HELP
Trying to figure out the correct ball joints to use for the swap. I've spent the past 2 hours reading countless write ups and it seems people are all over the place. 75% of people say they use Spicer 706944X as "WJ" ball joints, these are the same ones I use on the XJ knuckles. I have also found Spicer 707488X, which are listed specifically as 99-04 WJ, as well as early JK.
Also, I am planning on running heims(unless convinced otherwise), and have a hard time finding definitive answers to running the tie rod straight across. Some say it hits their aftermarket cover, some say it hits their STOCK 30 cover, while others say everything clears. I can live with running the OEM cover and just beefing it up. The kit will most likely be the RuffStuff 1.5"x.250 DOM.
I will be putting long arms on at the same time, so everything will be adj properly.
Any help is appreciated, trying to gather all the parts to complete this in a couple weeks. Thank you!

This is a nice kit and shows me decent pictures of the setup, but man is that expensive! I'm $90 in already for Akebono calipers and the knuckles. I'll buy centric rotors and re-drill myself, with Black Magic pads. Add the cost of all the Ruff Stuff steering, and it's still quite a bit less than that kit!

I would recommend Synergy:
There's a reason they cost a lot more than Spicer. Cut them open and compare them to a set of Spicers.
You are doing a WJ swap for one thing: better, stronger parts. Don't cheap out on the joints used to hold it all together.
Amazon.com: Synergy Manufacturing 8009-12 Jeep JK/WJ Dana 30/44 HD Ball Joint Set (2 Uppers, 2 Lowers): Automotive

Always my motto, but I just can't justify that much on ball joints, not when I've never had a single prob with Spicer. Moog on the other had, problem after problem. I'll be on these new 33's until they wear, so at least 2 years. Then I'm making the jump to 35's. If anytime during this I keep going through Spicer units I'll switch without hesitation.
My jeep has been on stands since May, trying to get my 8.8 done, long arms installed, f/r lockers bought and installed, regeared, the front steering/WJ swap, rear tire carrier bedlined and installed. I just want it on the road before winter. I'll spend the $150 difference elsewhere for now just to get driving.
Any insight about the correct SPICER number for WJ ball joints?
Thank you!

Those are the 707488X correct? Any chance you could price match? I was just going to buy them from Amazon for $45x2 but always willing to buy from a vendor when the price is right..
I wonder why so many of the write-ups and threads I've read list the other number, when that number is for xj/tj/zj/etc.
Thank you for your help!
