WJ Steering Swap
I've search quite a bit so if there's a thread about this I must not have been searching the right keywords I guess.
If I do the swap, will I need to shorten the drag link to fit to a 97 D30 application?
What length should the drag link be from TRE to TRE?

did you already complete the swap? setting the drag/tie rod lengths is just about the very last thing you do when going to WJ knuckles
and when you are ready to install the drag link it's very simple. what you do is you take a measuring tape and see how far it is from the pitman arm to the new high steer knuckle

I did do the swap already. It's a funny story. I did exactly that, but I thought that the drag link was too long. I had just modified the track bar so I figured I'd do the same with the drag link. Terrible idea. I'm now sitting in someone's lawn waiting for a tow truck but the weld broke.
Back to the topic, is there a position I should place the pitman arm and the tires so I can get length and aligned properly? I shouldn't have to modify the drag link at all?

I always install mine with the steering wheel straight and the pitman pointing straight to the rear of the jeep. Both tires as straight as possible as well. This will get you in the ball park for setting your drag and tie rod. You'll still have to do an alignment once this is complete. Burn it in hot man! Can't have welds breaking on the road
What steering kit are you running? Which over-axle panhard? Are you running the tie rod over or under the knuckle?
