So, I have been frankensteining my jeep for about a year now. 2000 Cherokee Sport, 196,000 miles. Runs well and pretty stock. I have a 3.5 inch home-brew lift with coils from a thunderbird, adjustable control arm, track bars from an f-250, leafs from an S-10 and front shocks from blistein and rears from an explorer running on Hercules Terra Track 2's.
Anyway, the thing just hits bumps really hard on the street. I know I'm not driving a cadillac but I am trying to rack my brain to find a lower cost solution to some issues. Would installing WJ lower control arms make a slight/significant difference in my ride quality on the street? I have seen the write up on it all over the place but most of those comments/threads are from years ago.
Does anyone currently have them on their jeep now?
Did it help?
Would you do it again?
How bad was the install (I know I have to grind down the frame side bushing a little to fit and slightly widen the axle side)
I know I should do it right with a long arm or a drop bracket to help but I'm on a self imposed budget. Let me know what you guys know.
