Default Will spacers and shackles work?

I have an 88 xj. It has a rancho 3.5" lift on it. I'm wanting to lift out more on a budget. Can I go higher with just shackles and spacers?

I would assume as long as you don't already have preexisting 2'' spacers/shackles, then I don't see why not. But if you're using like a 1.5'' spacer, then there really wouldn't be much of a gain. Anything 3''+ is highly not recommended.

But let someone more knowledgeable confirm or correct this.

Cheers

stock shackles iirc are 3in eye to eye.
so measure your shackles to see what you have now.
and that will tell you how much more you can go.

keep in mind with shackles every 1inch longer will only get you 1/2in lift because your only lifting one side of the leaf.

imo 6in eye to eye is max for shackles but others may disagree.
6in eye to eye would get your roughly 1.5in lift.

if you already have extended shackles you can also look into shackle relocators to lift the rear up.

and as far as up front if you dont have spacers yet then ya go for it. but NEVER stack spacers. and 2in spacers would be a max imo..
other wise just get new 4.5 in coils there only like 70-80$ and the spacers are like 40$. so its not thaatt much more.

As far as the height itself then Yes you could do it that way. (As long as at this moment your 3.5 lift doesnt already consist of shackles ans spacers as mentioned already). But depending on how much more you go you will end up needing/ wanting more parts to keep it driving decent. (Like adjustable trackbar, longer shocks, control arms, SYE, longer brakelines etc.) My .o2. I am at 4.5 with coils and spacers and still have a stock trackbar, but I did end up buying different control arms shocks and SYE after I increased the lift.

Yeah from what I can tell no spacers or shackles. I have Tc drop kit installed. I hoping to do it a little at a time.
