Default Will 4.10's be good in a Dana 30 & 35 with 33in tires?

Just like it says. Bought the jeep with 33's and it's running stock Dana 30 and 35's. Just wondering if changing the gears will help get power back. Not wanting to go crazy rock crawling but do want it as a trail rig.

Thanks for the feedback

Wow. Lots of good info. So if I can find an Chrysler can I reuse the shafts out of the 35. is that how you keep the same bolt pattern or do I need to pretty much rebuild it to work with the jeep. I guess I have allot of research to do

I am running 4.10's and a auto with 32's. Its pretty good. If I pull a trailor it wants to downshift all the time. I think if you have a standard you'll do ok, if you have an auto I say go with 4.56 for 35's.

No, my jeep came stock with the dana 35 and 3'55's. I went to the junk yard and found a 4cylinder with a c8.25 with 4.10's. Sorry I ment 33's. The best gear set up for 32 to 33 inch tires for stock proformance is around 4.27, but nobody makes that ratio. IMO 4.56 would be best for 33's and auto. I went the 4.10 route for two reasons. 1. I could find them in the junkyard and 2. for two axles with 4.10's I paid a total of $450.00.

the C8.25 29 spline is out of a Cherokee 96 1/2 to 2001 and has the same bolt pattern as you do now. 5x4.5 its bolt in.

direct bolt in, with the exeption of new u-bolts, and possibly a driveshaft depending on the jeep

nice list, lol

although most of the broken D35's we get in the shop have broken the spider gears and not the axle shafts.

Yes, need new U-bolts. You will also have to use the d35 e-brake cables and for the driveshaft I just used a junkyard front driveshaft. I have a 231 TC and a SYE so a front driveshaft is the perfect length. I just had to put the double cardin joint on it from the one I took out.
