So I'm trying to pick out a long arm kit for my 97 with a 4-4.5" lift. Im looking for a true 3 link or 4 link front end set up. Ive seen two different 3-link brands, B Lee Offroad and Clayton Offroad, and two different 4-link brands, BDS and Synergy Offroad. My question: Is anyone using one these kits and how do they like it, on-road and off? Also is anyone running another 3-link/4-link kit I don't have listed and how does that one perform?

Im extremely interested in B Lee's kit if anyone is running that one.

I have the B.Lee kit but havent been able to put it up against any real test yet. Project Buffalo Build is another thread that you can check out that has the B.Lee kit.

There's a local guy to me that runs that kit with success and no concerns.

Had I not gone B.Lee, I really like the Synergy equipment but it's not inexpensive.

Have you ran it on the road yet? I DD mine so i want to know how it feels at highway speeds and in breaking. Ive heard that 3-links pull under heard breaking, but that seems to depend on who you ask. Some people claim it is unnoticeable while others say it is. Price is the main reason I like B Lee given it is much cheaper than the other kits. I also like how it comes with heim joints rather than another kind of joint.

My BDS 4 link made my jeep ride like a Cadillac at 5.5" on 37s and fullwidths. I had LI slider boxes on the rear.

I haven't seen the rusty's one yet but just from the looks of it i like it. Seems like a solid kit.

That Rusty's setup is the one they used on the Veteran XJ off Extreme Offroad TV

I have the Rock Krawler 3 link. I've never had any trouble out of it.

Whoops, you're correct. I was thinking of the video off Rusty's and their MJ, same color and memory failed me. They used a prototype version of the bracket. Anyway, here's the video.

Where did you get that kit, I've heard of Rock Krawler but cant find any if their XJ long arm products on their website.

I think, but could be wrong, that the difference between a 3 and 4 link on a dd is going to be minimal. However I haven't driven mine yet; my build thread was mentioned earlier, Buffalo Build.

You pretty much say goodbye to "stock" driving characteristics when you lift it any amount.

For $725 shipped how could I say no to a true 3 link (B Lee), I didn't even know Clayton was an option when I did my research. But after seeing the price of it, and having dealt with Brian, I'd buy the B Lee kit again in a heartbeat. Easy to install, and he can build it however you want; heims, JJ's, etc.

3 link will flex a little better. No binding what so ever. 4 link will be a lot more stable in go fast situations.

3 links are fine on the road. the only reason that the 3 link would dive under braking (pull would be a different problem) is if you don't run enough separation at the frame side. but even then I'd wager it's not that noticeable, I run 4" frame side and 8" axle side.

with panhard on both setups? what's the difference and how does a panhard 4 link operate better at speed than a panhard 3 link?

unless we're talking triangulated 4 link with no track bar... I think there's a lot more variables. only difference should be 1 additional upper link, at least in a panhard situation
