your tires will prob rub the lower control arms at full steer. you may need spacers to fix this, but your already getting close to the price of some black rock crawler wheels by buying spacers.(good quality anyways) you may as well save a little extra cash and just do rims instead of putting the stress of wheel spacers on your lug studs, ball joints, unit bearings, ect....

i have wheel spacers and offset rims on my dd, knowing im gonna have to replace some parts at some point. but that jeep is more for show than go.

Set of wheels with proper backspacing: $191.96
Set of Spider-Trax spacers (The best available spacer) $219.98
Set of Rough Country spacers: $119.90

For me its a no brainer, nice shiny new wheels for the a little less than spacers. Unless you are running alloys or really like the look of the stock wheels. There is nothing wrong with a quality spacer IMO but they do require more maintenance.

So how do I know what wheel to get so it has the right backspacing? All these numbers with wheels and tires confuse the hell outta me lol

the more backspacing a wheel has the farther in it will stay. the less backspacing a wheel has the farther out it will be. so a good back spacing for you is 3.75 to 4.5. the 3.75 is gonna stick out farther than the 4.5

I believe stock wheels are 5.25" back spacing. 3.75" bs willgive give you 1.5" extra space on each side. It will stick out beyond stock flares, especially if you have wider than stock tires.
Take the extra width of the tire (over stock) and devide by 2, then add the amount of extra space by the spacers or after market wheels. And that's how much it will stick out. For example; you buy mickey thompson classic's with 3.75 bs, this pushes your tires out 1.5" then, say you go to a 31x10. 50 the stock tires (235's) are 7.5" wide, so devide the difference in half (1. 5") and add to the extra space on the wheel (1. 5") and you come out with 3" it will stick out.
If you want to see how far it will stick out turn your steering wheel to "0" or just make sure your wheels are facing straight ahead, then place a ruler (3 foot long if you have it, but any long, flat and straight object will do) directly in front of the hub touching the tire and standing verticle. Slide it up on the tire till it touches the under side of the wheel well or flare. Mark where it touches. Now measure the space from that mark to the outermost part of the flare. Now subtract that from your wheel/tire number and the remainder is how much it will overlap the flare.
I am making the same decision on the wheel spacers or wheels. I have 31/10. 50's on stock wheels and they are rubbing.
