What are you going to do to your XJ in 2013?
What do you recommend I do first? I will finally have the time to work on my XJ this year. I was planning on finishing my rack and basket, tire carrier, install the exhaust I made in my welding class, and finally install a decent lift so I can put on those 33's I have had sitting at my house. What are your plans this year?

Ordering tires and a power steering pressure hose later this week. The only big item left is a set of rock sliders to finish my build.

5.5'' Lift
33'' tires
Soft 8's
But before all that gotta fix the drivers door speaker, find out why the outlets have no power and some general maintenance.

I just got a new windscreen put in and I was going to get rid of it, 'cos I bought a Grand Cherokee instead.
Put LPG conversion on the new one and was going to make it my 'keeper'.
BIG mistake. Lots of problems with the new car.
Now I'm thinking of keeping the XJ and getting rid of the new one.

Read, read again, read some more.
Unfortunately there isn't one perfect link to post that will go over proper suspension geometry, ride qualities, steering benefits, gearing, protection.
But before you just buy a lift, like i did (and many others). Sit on your money, count it, smell it, now research for what you want.
I could have made my lift for cheaper then buying.
That may not answer your question, but it's always good to say. (maybe someone will be saved)

Haha, well My XJ has been in storage for a year since I've been up in Canada working. I get back to Michigan in a week then I can finally work on my Jeep again! Plans so far:
Custom front bumper
Custom longarm setup
Clocked t-case
Flat belly skid
Reverse lights
Locker in the front
Maybe move up to 35s
And a pile of other little mods/fixs
Gonna be nice to have my XJ back.

Definitely like to get caught up on general maintenance. Rear wiper, power windows, temp gauge/sensor, headliner, and electric fan. Then more of the fun stuff to utilize my new lift better!
