Just curious to see what tires everyone is running on their rigs and what they think of them (good/bad). I am always seeing Q & A about sizes but rarely read what Brand/Model tire they are running.

I have been running Goodyear Silent Armors 30x9.5 for the past 3 yrs. about 41k on them and ready for the shredder. Good- They are nice and quiet and handle well on the road. Have been great in all weather conditions, never once hydroplaned and grip well on ice and snow. Steep loose gravel climbs leave a little to be wanting but other wise decent traction in the dirt. Bad - under a light weight XJ, rotated about every 10k running 32psi and they are not going to live to their 50k warranty.

Super Swamper LTB. Good, off road traction is awesome. Ran them in the Rocky mountains of Colorado for the last year, no flats. Bad, wear very fast on the road. Before roads are plowed they are great in snow on road. After plowing non siped lugs not so great.

I've got goodyear wrangler muds. Good all round tire. They take a lot of abuse off road, never had a flat. They're pretty grippy on everything except for when it rains on the black top. Its a little too easy to drift when its just water, but maybe thats because i have a stroker... Never hydroplaned, though.

33x9.5x15 BFG KM1s. Pros: Great tires on the street, as long as its a dry day. Good in rocks and dirt, ok in mud. They seem to last just about forever too. Cons: Wet road traction is horrible, unsiped Swampers get better traction in the rain. And if you want to buy them you have to get a used set since BFG discontinued these.
Overall, good tires, with siping they would be great tires. I'll keep buying them as long as I can find them in a size that I can use.

31x10.5x15 Treadwright Guard Dogs. Pros: cheap, good quality, aggressive look. Good street manners, decent in rain too. Good in dirt and on rocks. Cons: tread lugs need to be spaced out more to make the tire more aggressive. Not the best in mud.
Overall, another good tire, especially for the price. Great quality tire. Mud terrain looks with all terrain performance, great if you don't need a mud tire but want something that looks aggressive.

33 10.5/15 BFG AT's
Pros: Quiet on the road, good wear (if I rotated them properly) good in the snow, rain, hard ground, priced right. 4th set i've owned

Cons: no good in the mud, even slippery surfaces. they don't self clean & become slicks

- Side note, best all around tire i ever had on a jeep were Wranglers MTR's (discontinued version - NOT Kevlars)

General Grabber AT2 - Daily Driving/light trails - 30x9.5-15 on stock rims
-One of the best tires I've ever bought. I'm at 30k now and they have 30k left if not more. Rotated every 10k, i run 40psi on road and 18psi off. No flats, tears, or chunking. Have never hydroplaned or ever felt any bit loose on rain or snow. Only the slick clay based mud here in SC gave them trouble, but they are an AT tire. They do clean pretty good with some throttle thought; still not an MT tire. have a constant "hum" at speed and a little talk around 30mph. Very confident tire; will continue to buy if quality doesn't change.

BFG Mud Terrain KM2 - Off road only - 245x75-16 on Soft 8s
-I have no reason to run anything else off road. They bite, stick, claw and tear through whatever I point my Jeep at. I run them at 14psi off road and have not slipped a tire, chunked, or gotten a flat. On road, they are loud, a little squirrelly when new, and do not like rain. I have skidded and hydroplaned with them. I run them only on my way to the trails because of that. Probably 10-15k on them and they still look good, but wearing quickly.

My driving style on road is usually a little above the speed limit, and I dont' drive my XJ like a sports car. I like to roll out nice and smooth, I'm not in a rush.
Off road I carefully pick lines and stay out of the throttle mostly; ......mostly....... This is my DD until the Ranger gets it's V8.

I've got BFG A/T's, pretty hard to beat on a daily driver in my opinion.

I'm running iroks on my jeep. Not too bad on the street. Very soft tread and grab rocks like I'm driving a gecko on wheels.

35x12.5 15 pro comp xterrain. wasnt too happy about the brand when I first bought these. but they keep impressing me

move a lot of earth without digging
clean out amazing like I never even went wheeling
stick to rocks - could be better but I was happy with them at 14lbs
balanced amazing. great on the road a little noisy
downside is weight. with aluminum wheels and gears its manageable
it's a pretty tough tire that I can drive on the road

I have a full size spare brand new in my garage. I think I'm gonna order another new one and run 2 new tires in the front. I like these

When I was looking at tires a lot of people steered me away from pro comp's.

34-10.50/15 Interco super swampers TSL's

Good on the road(but loud as f*ck)

Kinda slick when wet.

Arguably the best tires in the mud

But I just got them so I haven't tried them in the snow yet

me too I heard they're garbage. the xterrains are the most aggressive ones they sell and I definitely wouldn't buy any of the other pro comp styles. actually not that bad in my experience so far. and trust me.. I tested them hard

this is the description on their website. they're better in loose material than on rocks if you asked me. but this is a pretty accurate description

"For a set of rock crawling beasts that also drive comfortably on paved roads, Pro Comp Xterrain off-road truck tires provide all the aggressive traction that you need, and just might surprise you with their freakishly quiet ride on the street."

TSL Bias and love them. Drug them and my wheels on rocks this weekend, the wheels show it but the tires are fine. Don't know may sidewalls that would hold up to the abuse I've put them through. My Xterrains and MTZs didn't.
