I recently had an advanced adapters kit installed. I bought it on craigslist for super cheap. It went together easy and has served me well for the short time I've had it

Read this. If you don't feel like your existing SYE is junk after reading this I don't know what else will convince you. LOL http://www.jbconversions.com/product..._short_sye.php.

Aren't super short great for Wranglers but not really needed in Cherokees?

That's exactly what I was told when I inquired about a ss sye.

Yep, simply not needed for a XJ.

Yeah, they're needed for SWB rigs who need as long of a driveshaft as possible. If it works on a TJ 231, it'll work on an XJ 231.

The super short SYEs work great on XJs, but you need to lengthen the driveshaft. Works out fine if you're getting custom driveshafts anyway. I'm a fan of longer driveshafts (less shimming required, fewer vibe issues, fewer pinion bearing issues).

Yeah cause those are so common with standard SYE's.

Well, a short SYE might make sense if you use a 231 doubler in an XJ.

I'd doubt you'd be running stock axles so you'd probably need a different driveshaft anyways with a bigger joint.

Isn't the idea of a doubler so you can use the max stock gearing and still crawl slower? Otherwise you wouldn't need a doubler.

Yes and no. It's meant more for the bigger axles and bigger tires

JB CONVERSIONS has the best kit hands down. Especially if you get their short kit and find a speedometer work around and get a long enough drive shaft.
