I'm gonna build long arms for my zj but I need to know what size heims and DOM I should use

If you are asking these questions it might be best to buy a kit instead of building your own

I don't think so, lol. I don't need ur thoughts on whether or not I should build my own, only answer my questions please. I had planed on using 1.5" dom with .25 wall and 3/4" heims but someone said that 1.5 was to small of dom and that I only need 5/8" heims.

I have made lower arms, drag links, tie rods, etc... from 1.5 x .25" dom many of times (never any problems). But it never hurts to go a "little" bigger. As for the heims, I wouldn't go any smaller than 3/4" (not for control arms)!
If you use the .25" dom you'll have to get threaded bungs to weld in. If you went with .5" thick dom you can just drill and thread the tube itself...but the added cost for the extra thickness might be more than the bungs...???

street legal heims are very expensive, johnny joints are a better alternative.

uhhhhhh, its more important to figure out the mounting. building arms is easy.
