Default At what point does stuff break?

I have a OME 1.5" kit on the way along with a set of Pro Comp 15's. My question, at what tire size do driveline parts start breaking? I'll be taking my rig out to the middle of nowhere hunting and don't want to give up much reliability. My plan was 30's for that reason but I ended up ordering BFG KM2's 31's at discount tire today.

You'll be fine with 31's. I think it depends on the rear axle you have, but you can go to 33's safely. 35s is where you have to start building up the axles to handle the tires. Also depends on how much throttle you use. "When in doubt gas it out" logic tends to break stuff

I wouldn't worry to much on 31s. If u have a rear d35 just try and take care of it
They can handle some abuse.

Thanks guys. I don't plan on anything to extreme. Just a solid weekend off roader and hunting truck. It appears to have the 8.25 rear with 29 spline axles being a 99. How are 31's at freeway speed with stock gearing? I am installing the OME stablilizer shock.

You'll be fine on 31's. They are close to stock on the freeway and you'll still have power. If you want to be safe, get a v8 GC tie rod and a good steering box brace.

I have the same axle and ran 31" Duratracs on two runs to Superlift and SMORR with stock gears. The only issue I had was brakes on steep decscents. There were a few climbs I felt sure I was going to break something(full throttle) with no issues whatsoever...
I'm running 33" KM2s with 4.56 gears and disc brakes on the rear... I love it now...
