I'm still on 3.55. But not spending money til I get new axles. I actually don't mind it at all. But I'm sure I will love it once I regear.

I'm running 35's on 3.55 gears (stock) and I'm perfectly fine with no complaints. I currently have front and rear lockers and 4.56 gears sitting in my room waiting to be installed though. Here is a small clip of the stuff i do.

Honestly every jeep is unique and different, each engine gives out its own amount of power. Some more or some less than others so that has a major apart of it also but I do think in my opinion it's a great idea to regear to 4.56 with 35's

thats crazy talk. every 4.0 puts out the same amount of power, maybe +/- 10hp taking account for age and wear... the only difference you'll see is between autos and sticks.

you can drive over mediocre sized rocks with no incline?

if it works for ya it works for ya. but it isnt ideal and not everyone will be ok with it.

Yeah I understand but for a vehicle that has around 190hp, 10hp still makes a difference. Yeah that's true also about the auto and manual. 3.55 auto and 3.07 for manual to compensate for the extra power. Don't get me wrong I don't think it's a great idea running stock gears on 35's but if someone doest have the extra money to spend right away doesn't mean it's impossible to run 35's

It does have a small incline but it's nothing major I agree with you on that one but my point was that it's not impossible but that doesn't mean it's ok to do. Trust me there are a lot of wheeling trips I have missed out just because I am not regeared or locked but I also know its not ideal for a jeep with a 4.0 to try and rock climb with stock gears and 35's. It's nearly impossible and most likely miserable and will not have fun

My jeep is fully locked with 35's and factory gears got sick of havin to basically be full throttle to flex up anything ... .. But with 8.8 swap had to gear to match 4:10's , still locked up front but rear is now limited slip ... Can force it to lock with breaks and gas but it's shady .... Gonna just have to see how budget and wife is , that will determine how fast I can swap front and regear..... Again

End goal with jeep is rock crawler extreme .... Prob go 5:13's in the end after front swap Dana 44 and lose the 30 .... I want idle crawl power and maybe even swap t-case if gears in axle aint low enough at 5:13 ....

AX15 with 4.88s and 35 inch KM2s works good, and I finally ran a tank through that didn't have any 4low miles on it and got 14.8 mpg, which I'm happy with. I would like a lower ratio in the transfer case or a doubler but for now it does ok.

That's pretty much the exact same as me right now. Locker, 4.56 gears, XJ Dana44 all waiting to replace my 3.55's/open diffs to help with my 34's (for now). Kind of gutless from a stop, and the shift point seems to be right at the highway cruising speed.. any slight incline or wind gust makes her downshift

Yup same here, I just got really lucky right now. I just picked up a free ford 9" rear end
