Post What bumpers will fit on an XJ? (Not against fabrication)

Ok, so I desperately want a stinger & a winch mount. I also want to find one used for moderately cheap. I found one that is on JK now and another one that is on a TJ, and both of them are what i'm looking for. I can fab most of whatever i need, aside from straight out building the stinger myself. I just want to know what would i have to do to get these parts to fit, or if there are any other trucks, jeeps, SUV's that might fit. This applies to bumpers, brush guards, bull bars, whatever. Thanks

No offense, I like the actual bumper itself, but you're stinger has got to he the fugliest I've ever seen.

I can weld, and i have a sawzal. I just don't know how to bend the metal. Is it just as simple as heating it until it's playable or is it more complicated? I'm also worried about the structural integrity of a fabbed stinger compared to one that is purchased.

not to sound like a moron but what purpose does a stinger have other then getting in ur way of seeing where ur going

@daltonamorph personally all stingers are ugly i prefer the dual tube bumpers with brush gaurds that extend around the marker light

Psh, your stinger is wayyyyyy sick. If I knew where you lived, I'd come to your house at night with a sawzal and hack it off and steal it. Haha kidding. But seriously, I totally would

For big drops on a trail a stinger will help you from flipping over. Also when going up an object on the trail can use it to get better angles. Kinda like a slider

Default Against Fabrication but does fit

I put a Nissan Navara XLT d40 Rear on my XJ,[IN AUSTRALIA] (same as the
Westin Fey Diamondstep Rear
) IN USA] for Dodge Ram or 84 Dakota], as i couldn't find one around quick enough and it was up for rego inspection and i had no rear, had to grab what i could urgently so i could drive it that weekend, so i had a couple of jeep brackets fit specially onto the Nissan bumper and fit it.{ bumper fits exact as Jeep size though you will need to make brackets and muck about) have them that fit the 95 XJ

no bumper, besides an XJ or MJ bumper, will directly bolt up. all others will take some sort of modification. if the width is at least close, then all you will have to do is modify the bumper mounts. heating up a piece of tube till its red hot will allow you to bend it, but you will weaken the piece of tube. if the stinger is just for looks, then its not a big deal. i'd wager that 90% or more of stingers are just for looks.

I believe JCR sells a kit to build yourself , I just installed a Smittybilt bumper and it's pretty heavy duty and only cost 395 which also has a stinger available for it .

JCR is probably the best "bang for your buck" DIY bumper.
