Pros:
Sealed for water/dirt/mud protection
"Stainless" hardware
Less need for a winch cover
Cons:
Tighter seals can cause quicker overheating
Extra cost

I bought an x20 because with my employee discount at the autopsies store it was only 50$ more than the xrc. I bought it when they were first realesed to the market. I haven't had any problems. I'd say if you don't use it often the added cost is worth it surprisingly. I've seen xrc's rust and almost seize because of infrequent use

 

There is a store that sells autopsies??? I wouldn't think there would be a big customer base for that, but....I guess I've been wrong before!

 

 

The Superwinch has all of those and a better winch I have the Talon 9.5 plus it has a 2 yr. warranty those do not.

X20 has 5 year electronic warranty and life time mechanical warranty. If you get it from 4wheelparts they do a 3 year no questions asked replacement even if it's a damaged rope.

 

That must be something brand new and only through them.


Warranty the "Rope??" never heard of anyone ever doing that to many stupid people using them for what ever they were "never intended" to be used.


I guess everyone should buy one then and use it like you stole it. I'm going to buy one if all this checks out to mount to my rear receiver hitch to use if needed.

 

All winches sold today are Water RESISTANT but not WATER-PROOF.
The X20 winches are sealed and will run under water if that's something that you (in general) plan on doing with it.

It's a great option if you plan on doing a lot of deep water crossings.

 

I picked mine up Tuesday. When i went in i was going for another m8000, but the sales guy told me about there smittybuilt warranty and I couldn't turn it down. Got a 10k with rope and warranty for like $630 out the door with cover.
