I am going from a Rustys 3 inch kit to a RC 4.5 inch kit. My lift will consist of the following. RC 4.5 inch coils, RC 4.5 inch Leafs, RC Hydro Shocks, Rustys Lower Control Arms, Rustys HD Track Bar. Ive heard some mixed opinions about RC, i know they are cheap but their leafs seem solid, the coils seem solid, and I can see how the shocks may be garbage. But the leafs and coils...will they do me justice for a while? My long term goal is 4.5 inch coils, an inch shackle lift, and some acos up front with long arms. Im just trying to see why so many people bash RC. Sure they are cheap but what else is there to look out for? Do you guys think my setup will be at least decent?
You will have the same setup that I am running on my cherokee, as far as will it last? Yes. As long as you replace the shocks from the start you will be good. it rides smooth, but wheel travel is limited.... Needless to say i will be changing lifts this winter, but i am going to a 9.5" lift....

My expierience was that the bushings only lasted a year. I didnt have the adjustable control arms and was told by RC that they were not rebuildable. They wouldnt warranty them either since I wasnt the original purchaser. i bought full spring pacs and they seemed to settle more than I wanted. The hard parts seemed decent but the bushings are junk. I went to iron rock 6.5 from an RC 4.5.

The coils seem to flex decent, Hadnt put them to a real test yet but they seem pretty good. Leafs dont seem too stiff, and I bought them used so they should have been settled already. i got like 5 inches out of them.

I didnt ask if they were "good". Im getting more opinions to see what people think about them and what parts they think are ok vs what aren't. Its a forum, no helpful advice then dont waste time posting.

Even if you google stuff about rough country lifts the only thing you see is problems with bushings and shocks. Im looking for more specifics as to what I can expect to be able to use for a while (leafs, coils).

I've ran 2 different rough country kits. the first one was on my ZJ, the bushings wore out unbelievably quick. that in it self wasn't the problem, the problem was they used to use an odd ball sized bushing that there was no available replacement without buying a set of polys and turning them down to fit in the LCAs. I'm now running the RC 4.5 kit in my XJ, the Fixed lowers now use the standard OEM size bushing that is pressed in and not vulcanized so when they ware out they can be replaced. I've wheeled my XJ quite a few times since installing the kit. the first time the coils seemed pretty stiff and didn't flex very well. after allowing them to break in, they flex out pretty good and the bushings are still tight with no premature tearing or clunking going on. I can recommend them without any hesitation.

Garbage. If you buy their 4.5in leafs they will net about 5.5, they will be too short and put your shackle at a vertical angle, you will call RC their solution is shackle relocators. You buy those, they lift you another inch. And they of course fail to inform you that you cannot use those with a stock shackle because it will hit the shackle relocators sides while compressed. So you end up buying a 1in shackle and you are yet another inch higher. Need I say more? Well here, Their control arm bushings go bad every 5 months if you actually wheel your rig. Add what you are saying about their shocks and whats left that is suppose to be decent? Maybe their coils
Oh, I guess their disconects havn't failed me yet. First hand experience.

Ive got 4.5 inch leafs and netted about 5 and my shackle angle is pretty good. I plan on getting custom relocaters. The coils seem decent, and like I said I have rustys arms. I think my setup is decent, of course it could be better.

Well yea I already have the stuff, im trying to see what I should expect out of the stuff I have. My setup is listed in the first page. The leafs seem good to me, like i said my shackle angle is good, and the coils seem fine, shocks are gonna get replaced eventually.
