I did some searching and didn't find the answer I was looking for, can someone provide a list of donor vehicles? Like what years and models?
I have 2 picknpulls with 20 minutes of me, I'm sure I could find one.

This may help, check the chart 3 paragraphs down. Good luck finding a 765 though, 240's and 760's are more likely to be found.

I've yet to find a 765 myself, didn't know that was a thing until that list.

We have made our second installment of the volvo topic. Much has been learned. On this episode we explain and show what you are looking for when you take your trip to the junkyard.
We're not to most knowledgable people in the business either, what we may have said could always be wrong to someone else understanding. So if there is anything you think we got completely wrong please make it known.
Also any suggestions on what kind of videos you would want to see done in the future are welcome. Chances are we can make it happen.

So the guy I picked up my g80 from don't remember what gears it had on it. How can I tell what gear ratio it is for? The numbers on it read like this

Example 1:
The way it appeared for me was like this.
VOLVO (some numbers) 43-13 (some more numbers)
43 = Ring gear teeth
13 = Pinion gear teeth
So we take 43 divided by 13 = Gear ratio 3.30
That means its a 3:55 and up carrier.
Example 2:
The count on my volvo diff was 41-10. That means I had a 4.10 ratio which is obvioulsy 3:73 down carrier.
I cant find the picture I took that clearly shows the stamp on the ring sadly.
The fact you can't google this stuff is the reason we made these videos in the first place. We feel ya.
So what do you mean you cant find what jeep is getting this installed?

Sadly it didn't come with the gears to get the number off of so trying to find out if I have a 3:55 down or 3:73 up carrier. I have two jeeps that I'm trying to do this to one is 3:07 the other is getting regeared to 4:10.
Great video and info. That said, there is a reason they call these 'gov bombs' and anyone installing one should be very mindful that it is a weak link and when it goes it almost certainly will kill the ring and pinion gears, bearings and such.
Used to be a Blazer ZR2 guy. We had G80s in our 8.5 rears and when they went they would take out everything.

You're right about the G80. Fortunately, this is not a G80. Its derived from the design is all.
If it helps, we have actively raced with these. That includes jumping, crawling, and lots of mud/dirt at higher RPMs. In fact the only person I know that it failed on them is the owner of Ironman4x4, Andy Carter. He was going faster than all hell in a field hit a bump or something (I have no idea why or how lol) and blew it. Thats the first case I've heard of them failing. Not to say if you go bogging every weekend, you won't blow it sooner then later.
Don't get me wrong its junkyard item..bottom line. Definitely not new.
