Hello, one of my friends had an extra set of Rubicon Express 5.5 inch coil springs that are for the rear. I need to replace my front springs, and was curious what the major difference between rear and front springs is? I already have a 5.5-inch lift in the front and it would be awesome if I could just use those ones. Does anyone have any experience with this type of swap? Thank you very much.

For 1, those are JK coil springs. XJ's are leafs in the rear...
Why do you need to replace them? If they're your friend's, just put them in and see if they work.

Typically, front springs carry the weight of the drive train and are usually at higher spring rate than the rear - but obviously, these springs are for a different Jeep. I'd ask Rubican Express what the rate they spec for the front of your XJ and what they spec for the rear of your friend's jeep and compare before you spin sockets

I spin sockets cause Info on the interweb isnt always the best.
Im not sure rear springs will physically fit. Use tape if they will then spin them sockets
