There is a local shop that builds and rebuilds driveshafts, but I'm assuming it's going to be around $100 to have it re-tubed, but could be an option if the ZJ Shaft is too long/short.

Going to hit all the yards in Denver tomorrow I guess. My SYE kit was delayed a day so I can't install till Saturday anyways

My front shaft is around 29" long so it might fit as well, but I obviously need to figure out another solution long term

I looked through all the ZJs in the yard today, didn't have time to go to the other yard unfortunately. Either the shaft was short (nearly the same length as a front XJ shaft), or it was really gouged, and 2 or 3 of them were completely bent from the forklifts.

I ended up looking at WJ Grand Cherokees and I pulled this off a WJ 4.0 with 242 T-case. Measures just at 31.8" collapsed, and almost 34.5" full extension with the boot on. The Grand Cherokee shaft actually separates into 2 pieces, so if I get the boot off I can technically get a bit more extension. It looked identical to the ZJ shaft I pulled but I forgot to swap the U-joint caps to make sure they were the same u-joints (99% sure they are the same, I looked up the u-joint part numbers and they match between the XJ, ZJ and WJ for the driveshaft)

Hopefully it will at least bolt-up on there. I am not worried about it being too short (from my rough measurements), and from my research it looks like AX15's need longer driveshafts in the rear

Mother FUUUUUUUUUU
That shaft was bent as well...

Sye is installed though! Had to abort late Saturday night because my snap-ring pliers just didn't have the ***** to get it done. Some garbage Channellock branded ones I got at Home Depot. Took an Uber to Sears - should have bought it in advance (stupid me).

Just for the record measurements were almost perfect - the WJ front shaft fit within .5" of center of the slip spines, a touch long I think but basically perfect for a JY swap. No one has the WJ front shaft on any of the driveshaft compatibility lists, probably because it would be too long for an XJ. There are alot more WJ's in the junkyard than ZJ's for whatever reason

Some new Jeeps in the Junkyard according to their inventory. Going to scope it out tomorrow. I realllllly dont want a custom shaft
Right now I am running a Duralast 1-0134DL 1310-1330 conversion joint, but I am going to get a proper yoke. I think the ones off the Ranger will work but need to measure. Worst case I will pony up the $40 for a new one, I am not a fan of the conversion u-joint.

Also, my transfer case bolts are stuck as hell. I can't get them out to remove the stupid t-case drop sleeves

I am afraid of breaking the bolts, I put a ton of pressure on it with the breaker bar. Might be a good task for a big-*** impact gun

The silver part is where I assume the forklift gouged and bent the shaft. This one is not bent that much, but when I spin the tires and driveshaft it has a visible bend to it.
