good call.
a place that cant just get you what you want without seeing it is not a place i want to do business with, personally...
if someone says they have to look at what i want so they know what to get me - i just cant see that working for me.. i dont want them going to some xterra or whatever and bringing that back if i really wanted something else.
i go to a local (not a you pull it) JY (with money in hand) and say i want part xxx off a xxx and they bring it to me i dont think its that hard to comprehend or even better, luckily there is a pick n pull in my hometown and some other you pull it places here that i can just do it myself for pretty cheap...

Theres a yard near my home town called Covilles, the guys a dick and over charges for everything so people tend to just say yeah i picked up this map sensor, and then they fill their pockets with other sensors and stuff to recoup the cost of the single part.
Me I just go to Kenny u pull here in ottawa, 10$ for a map sensor including vaccum lines and mounting bracket. And 30 day warranty if it doesnt work...
Ok so im wanting to do the zj tie rod upgrade, what parts to i need exzactly? If i go to the store i know im asking for 93 to 98 zj v8 tie rods and im getting both tie rods correct? And they come with ball joints right? Sorry new with the whole jeep thigs but loving it

Just curious, I want to replace just about everything and I'm looking to spend money where it needs to go. However, I see you folks talking about using this jy pick, what else could be used from the jy to save on an entire overhaul for susp and steer? I'm looking at ol man E shocks an springs, but is there tr and such worth the price? Or should I just sweat an pull one out? As well as swing arm, control arm etc??

I bent my Tr my first time out. 10 minutes at a pick n pull, made sure the boots and ends were good on a zj V-8 tr, 20$ good to go. 10 minute install, 5-10 adjusting it. Can't imagine ill have an issue Dd'ing it and light wheeling every now and then. Pretty much the weakest link in the xj steering, besides the steering box spacer and its framerail location cracking. Those should also be addressed asap with anyone considering offroading their xj.
If you plan on doing much more significant wheeling, your whole steering should be replaced. I personally have heard too many horror stories with Rusty's steering components (specifically trackbars) and I hear hes kind of a dick to work with, so I won't be buying much of anything from him. Frank from serious offroad has a pretty good sized following here, good quality stuff.
