Default uneven wear

What could be causing uneven wear on my tires? My front driver's side tire is a lot more worn than my other tires. I have a pro comp 3in lift. I have a 98 classic 4.0 aw4 np231. I've searched and usually both front tires get worn more than the back two so that has me a little confused.

Were your wheels balanced? Have you had it aligned?

Both of my front tires had been wearing almost staggered, like one end of a **** was higher than the other, all the way around. It ended up being my ball joints. Might want to check those.

I had a very similar problem.. I believe the term for this wear pattern is cupping. Not sure tho. I replaced my ball joints and rotated the front tires to the the rear. No more cupping! Check your ball joints.

I would recommend having your front end checked and aligned if its all tight...

Nice I'll check those ball joints. How would I know whether they're good or not? The wheels were balanced but I didn't have it aligned. Could that be a factor too?

Yes alignment can be a issue You can check ball joints by jacking the bottom of your axle and look for separation or play where the ball joints are bolted to the knuckle. Using a bar as a lever to wiggle the ends can work too. Might not hurt to check your wheel bearings either.

Could be a bent axle tube.
