Default trying to lift my xj! please help!!!

hey everyone, im looking into putting a 3" lift on my 98 xj. from what i have been told so far, is that i wont be needing control arms, t-case drop, or a steering stabilizer. is this true??? im new to all of this..

ALSO- my current rear leaf springs are sagging, will i need to get new rear leaf springs with the kit or will addaleafs work just fine? whatever i get, i dont want it to sag much, if at all. im also going to be getting a new front bumper and a winch. will i need a higher spring rating on my front coils to hold the extra weight from this? or will the stock 150 lb work just fine with it?

ive been looking at lifts online constantly for the past couple days and cant make up my mind on what to get! then again, i also dont know exactly what i need either, which doesnt help lol. but i couldn't find anything with a high spring rating AND rear addaleafs in one kit that was affordable for me

any help and honest input would be much appreciated!!! also, i wouldn't mind getting some links to some cheap lifts either. i cant spend any more than $600

thanks in advance and happy jeepin!

My '97 has a bastard pack in the rear that has it at about 3", maybe 4" at the most. I had driveline vibes so I did a t-case drop. That helped, but it wasn't perfect so I put in new u-joints and shimmed the pinion angle. That helped a little bit more but the vibes are still there. People aren't joking when they say that as little as 2" of lift on a '97+ can cause you basically incurable vibes unless you get an SYE. I'm going to tolerate it for now, but eventually I'll probably end up doing the SYE/front driveshaft thing.

wow, thanks a ton man! i havent even heard of half those company's haha. i think i am going to go with the IROS, i really like their look and everyone else has good reviews of them too for the most part.
with their lift, whats the difference between the standard shocks that come with it and the nitro shocks for $25 more? is it worth it to get better shocks?

thanks again for all your help guys, i really appreciate it

I am also curious about the control arms. i see that some lifts come with control arms while others dont. I have been unable to find on any info on the reason for replacing them.

i took the extra money and didnt get their shocks. at the time i had a set of new skyjackers for a 6.5" lift so i put those on. I have since bought a set of rough countrys 2.2 performance shocks and they are 1000x better than the skyjackers. The piston is much much larger and its a much better ride... they were 220 shipped to me (4 shocks for a 6.5" lift and a 2.2 steering stabalizer).. the blistens IRO offers are a great shock though and i would imagine the doetschs are too.. i would say it is worth it to get the good ones
